Hand Rankings in Online Poker
When the most exciting part of poker takes place: see who wins and takes the pot. There are an established set of Hand Rankings (universally accepted) determining the winner.
These are listed below from strongest to weakest.
A Royal Flush The best possible hand – straight flush, consists of a Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace, all of the same suit.
Straight Flush Cards of five consecutive ranks, all of the same suit.
Four of a Kind All four cards of any rank plus one unrelated card.
Full House A full house: three cards of one rank, and two cards of a second rank.
Flush Five cards of the same suit, not making a straight.
Straight Five cards from unrelated suits which all have consecutive ranks.
Three of a Kind Three cards of the same rank and two unrelated cards.
Two Pair Two cards of one rank, two cards of another rank, and one unrelated card
One Pair Two cards of the same rank and three other unrelated cards
High Card Players have none of the above, the hand with the highest card wins. This combination is known as a “Busted Hand”. Made up of five unrelated cards – no pair, no flush, no straight, nothing at all.
