Troubleshooting

Software Updates

Does your computer suffer any or all of the following symptoms when running the True Poker client: freeze-up, illegal operations, not responding. Here are a few suggestions that may help you achieve better connectivity and an interruption free service:

1) Get all the latest updates for your O/S (Operating System):
Windows Update – For Windows 95 / NT /98 /98SE /ME /2000

XP Windows Update – For Windows XP

Be sure you have the ‘Critical Updates and Service Packs’. These are the most important. You may also wish to browse through other updates under Recommended (Windows XP for Windows XP users), and Device Drivers (Driver Updates for Windows XP users). Depending on your internet connection speed, these may take anywhere from a few hours, to as little as 10 minutes to download, as well as a few reboots of your computer. Please be patient and take the time to receive all updates, this will ensure your Microsoft O/S is fully up to date, and should help your entire system and programs to run without problems, or at least far less of them.

2) Have the latest version of True Poker:

(Select ‘run program from current location’ or Open when prompted)

If you have just downloaded True Poker, you should have the newest version already; however, it never hurts to use the above link to make sure. This will also replace any bad files that may be on your system relating to True Poker.

3) Make sure you also have the latest drivers for your video, and sound card.

These drivers are readily available on the individual vendor’s sites but can also be automatically updated via Windows. Windows Update contains a limited number of driver selections, and it is possible that your driver may not be supported.
